In June 2018, staff from the Glasgow School of Art's Widening Participation team ran a two-day workshop at Islay High School, opening up the 'Ileach' archives and giving pupils the chance to 'remix' this treasure trove of local history. The participants incorporated their own stories into their remixes using a variety of analogue equipment and materials such as typewriters, dry transfer lettering, stencils and label makers. With an emphasis on chance, improvisation and an embracing of 'mistakes', the pupils made over 100 A4 collages, showcasing the breadth of humour, imagination and creative flair within the group. The collages are collected in this book.
