A sense of place : Kintyre's remarkable diaspora

Roberts, Ronald J. (Ronald John), 1941-20242023
Books, Manuscripts
Kintyre is a 50 mile long, and extremely beautiful, peninsula on the western edge of Scotland. Its population has a very mixed genetic base reflecting its important geographical position between Ireland and Scotland, its excellent international harbour in the Royal Burgh of Campbeltown, and its fine agricultural land. It is a very vibrant community, educated, dynamic, friendly and outward looking. It is also a community which has produced an ambitious diaspora of pioneers who have made their mark in many areas of the world. This book is a serendipitous set of fascinating biographies of some of the most interesting and famous of these international 'achievers' from the past 200 years.
