A saint called Fintan, also known as Munnu, was the patron of the ancient and important church of Kilmun in Cowal, Argyll. The place is justly famous for its medieval remains and its close connection to the Clan Campbell chiefs. But the saint himself was also important to early Christians throughout the Gaelic world. Here are English translations of all the medieval texts (composed in Latin and Gaelic) which shed light on this figure, together with commentary on their significance.
