'Hetty's Hanukkah' is a picture book about one family's experience of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights. In this story, Hetty and her parents are waiting for the arrival of a new baby in the family. Each day, they light the candles on the hanukkiah, hoping that she will arrive before the final night. The book features many rituals and traditions as they observe the eight days of Hanukkah, such as the hanukkiah, shamash, dreidel, chocolate gelt and latkes.
