This booklet contains a selection of words and phrases - a mixture of Gaelic, Scots and English - from the fascinating dialect of Tarbert, Loch Fyne, complied from a variety of sources: the living speech of the villagers, books about Tarbert and 19th and 20th century local newspapers. The contents consist mainly of terms which are standard in these languages and found elsewhere, but a substantial portion of words and meanings is peculiar to the local dialect.
