This is the story of Roddy Martine's family from the time his father Charles arrived in Singapore to work for the Borneo Company in 1922. In 1939 they moved to Sarawak which was shortly to be invaded by the Japanese. Charles was interned in Changi jail for the duration of the war while his wife Pat escaped to Australia with the Children.
