Campbeltown in days gone by

McNeill, Carol, 1939-2009
Books, Manuscripts
Getting a glimpse of what Campbeltown looked like in the early 1900s is all thanks to two brothers, Charles and Dennis MacGrory, who indulged their passion for photography and left us an invaluable legacy: images of people, buildings, landscapes and a whole way of life which have all long since disappeared. The images in this book are only a very small selection from the wonderful legacy left by the MacGrory brothers, now in the care of Argyll and Bute Library Service; but they give a flavour of how Campbeltown looked more than a hundred years ago - and most importantly, the people who lived and worked there.
