The lands of Laggary historically formed part of the Ardconnell Estate. In the eary 19th century, this belonged to the Buchanan family, but after the sequestration of the estate it was sold to Sir James Colquhoun of Luss in 1827. Feuing of portions of the land for house building seems to have been authorised from about 1830 onwards.
